Miami Jazz Heritage is a non-profit educational public service community outreach initiative founded by musician and writer Bobby Ramirez in 2009. Its primary focus is promoting Jazz in the community through calendar listings, CD reviews / interviews that feature primarily local Jazz artists; helping to accentuate the work of other local Jazz organizations, schools, universities and institutions, as well as bringing awareness to the Miami Jazz Museum.

JAZZONIAN Heritage Orchestra
Call For Auditions

(9-23-2010) The Jazz Museum of Florida announces plans to establish the JAZZONIAN Heritage Orchestra (JHO): a full 20-piece World class concert big band Jazz ensemble composed of professional area musicians with the mission of celebrating Jazz!

JHO will be the signature ensemble of the Jazz Museum of Florida, Inc featuring a repository of traditional musical works from the great Jazz masters and original contemporary works, as well as participating as part of the JMOF educational initiatives that will help to empower young Jazz musicians in South Florida. The Jazz Museum of Florida is a not-for-profit initiative founded in 2009. Its purpose is to celebrate Jazz, collect, document, preserve and present the rich history of Florida’s jazz heritage and its influence on the musical art form, from its early 20th century origins to its modern-day variations through permanent art/photo and artifacts exhibit, archives, recordings, audio/visual experiences, traveling exhibits, interactive cultural education programs, live musical performances and special events for children and adults.
