Miami Jazz Heritage is a non-profit educational public service community outreach initiative founded by musician and writer Bobby Ramirez in 2009. Its primary focus is promoting Jazz in the community through calendar listings, CD reviews / interviews that feature primarily local Jazz artists; helping to accentuate the work of other local Jazz organizations, schools, universities and institutions, as well as bringing awareness to the Miami Jazz Museum.

Groovin' High to the Sounds of Jazz in Miami and Beaches

 

Finding great places for shopping, restaurants, and fabulous beaches is all in a day's stroll in Miami. But, this magic city has a new pulse that hugs the nightlife with the groovy sounds of Jazz.

From downtown to South Beach, Coconut Grove and Aventura, Miami is alive with Jazz at restaurants, concerts and festivals that give the city its unique culture as a mega-city that does not sleep.

Whether its groovin' high from the trumpet sounds of Arturo Sandoval, Miami Jazz saxophone great Ed Calle, flute extraordinaire Nestor Torres, the Jazz sultry-smooth Jazz vocals of Nyann Young, Yvonne Brown or Nicole Yarling, Mel Dancy, Jazz musician Bobby Ramirez & Pan Con Bistec, incomparable male vocalist Jon Secada, hard-bop Jazz style of saxophonist Jesse Jones Jr. & trumpet giant Melton Mustafa, Afro-Cuban Jazz funk band Oriente, Latin Jazz band Negroni's Trio, or hot Jazz style of violinists Federico Britos, Miami delivers a heavy Jazz punch that keeps audience coming back for more. On any given night in Miami, Jazz music fans can discover its sounds and rhythm at various places around town. One of the most popular Jazz hangouts in called Van Dyke Cafe (846 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139). Its upstairs room is a Jazz nightclub atmosphere featuring live Jazz on various nights during the month. Make sure to check out their online calendar for upcoming Jazz entertainment. Catch harmonica great Randy Singer, conga master Sammy Figueroa, and many other Miami Jazz artists performing.

If you're in the mood for the best chicken wings in Miami, make sure to visit Miami Wings Sports Bar & Restaurant (19401 South Dixie Hwy., Miami, FL 33157) each Thursday night for the best Jazz Jam in the city.
